About the Daily Data

Posted by Cobalt Witch on Mar 10, 2009

I compile the Daily Data every morning. (This may change; since I live in the Pacific NorthWet, one of the planet’s last time zones, I’m aware that this post appears too late to do most of the people on the planet much good.) Here’s what I’ve been including:

“Today is 10 March 2009, Day 69 of 2009 (296 left to go)” — today’s date, and which day of the year it is, lifted pretty directly from the Wikipedia entry for that day.

“Numerology: This is a 1 day in a 3 month in an 11 year” — These are the universal numerology numbers for that day. If you’d like to know your personal numerology numbers for the day, month, and year, you can get them from My Little Daily Page.

“We have a full moon in Virgo (Chaste Moon)” — The moon names are lifted from The Witches’ Almanac. The astrological sign is from the Planetary Positions page.

“Runic Half-Month is Tiwaz; Celtic Tree Month is Nuin (Ash)” — these two alternative month types are lifted from The Pagan Book of Days, by Nigel Pennick. I put these into my Outlook calendar years ago; although I don’t do much with the tree months, I’ve found the Runic half-months very useful.

“Daily Rune: Laguz; Daily Tarot Card: Six of Wands” — These are taken from My Little Daily Page, where each is determined by the day of the year divided by the number of runes/tarot cards. These can be taken as daily study guides, where you’ll go through the runes 15 times (with five days left over) or through the tarot 4 times (with 53 days extra). I’m finding some interesting correlations between the rune of the day and the half-months, however; it might be something to look at more closely.

“Sunrise: 7:33am . . . ” – The sunrise/set and moonrise/set are taken from the Sun/Moon page, and are calculated for Portland, OR. If you live further south/north of there, you might want to go look up the times for your own location.

“Sun is in Pisces . . . “ — These are taken from the Planetary Positions page on the Sacred Texts Archive site.

I hope that this data is helpful to you! 8-)
